
Miami Trace had three wrestlers take the top spots in their weight classes as the Panthers won the team title at the Logan Elm Invitational Jan. 4.
The Panthers piled up 223 team points while Monroe was second at 186. The host Braves were third at 178.5 points while Amanda-Clearcreek was fourth with 154.5.
Among other area teams, Westfall was tied for eighth with 131 points, Adena was 11th with 88, Chillicothe was 13th with 76.5, Unioto was 14th with 64, Circleville was 15th with 26 and Paint Valley was 16th with 15.5.
Miami Trace’s champions included Weston Melvin at 113 pounds, Mcale Callahan at 145 pounds and Grant DeBruin at heavyweight. Six other MT wrestlers placed as well.

Logan Elm had a pair of wrestlers claim titles with Blake Holzschuh winning a 5-3 decision over West Carrollton’s Tyrone Keeton to win the 132-pound weight class and Luke Linton pinned Adena’s Blaine Jenkins in 1:24 to take the 170-pound title.
Westfall’s Chanston Moll won the 126-pound weight class with a 10-4 decision over Reynoldsburg’s Logan Smalley.
Chillicothe’s Caleb Lake pinned LE’s Dylan Hartranft in 4:20 to win the 138-pound weight class. Unioto’s Timothy Diamond won the 195-pound weight class with a 21-second pin of Drew Kavinsky from Dublin Jerome.
