Jake Mancini threw a complete-game shutout and contributed offensively to a four-run sixth inning as Circleville advanced to the Division II regional championship Thursday (May 24) afternoon with a 4-0 win over Unioto.

The Tigers (18-10) loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth when Mancini drove the ball down the left field line bringing in two runs. Ethan Wolfe came through a few moments later with a single to drive in two more CHS runners – including Mancini.
Mancini yielded only four hits, struck out five and didn’t give up a walk during his time on the mound.
The win puts Circleville in the regional championship game for the first time since 1998. They will take on Steubenville for a shot at the final four.
